An Uber customer may encounter an error, “Your account is currently disabled. Visit t.uber.com/account-disabled for more information” while using the Uber App. In this article, I will share my experience with this error and suggest a method to activate an Uber account.
I also encountered the same error soon after I registered on the Uber App. Though I was having Ola (an competitor of Uber) on my phone, I still wanted to use Uber services so that I can compare price, arrival timing, etc. between the two. Competition is always good. 🙂
Step-1: Visit Uber Page for Activation
The solution for the problem lies in the error message itself. I visited the page t.uber.com/account-disabled and filled the details in the fields shown below. For those facing deactivation even before any use of the app can mention nil in the field for last two recent Uber trips. Others have to provide details of last two trips and submit.
Step-2: Email Confirmation
I received an email, as shown below, for confirmation of my email address after submission. I like to mention that email confirmation is must otherwise the Uber support team won’t act on the issue.
Problem Resolution
After I confirmed my email address, I received another email from Uber mentioning that my concern has been escalated to the investigation team and they will get back to me with an update. One can reply to such emails in case Uber requires some explanation.
Activation
After one day of raising the issue, I received finally an email informing me about activation of my account.
I had a very good experience with the Uber support team during this whole exercise. However, Uber may not always accept the activation request. For example, one of my friend received the below message mentioning suspension of his account. In such cases, I will suggest to wait for few days before again requesting Uber to activate the account.

Sorry to hear your issue that you are being billed for rides not taken by you. It is possible that somebody has logged into your account with your mobile details. You may contact Uber to stop this and register your complain.

After purchasing smart phone, then visit Play store (in case of android phone) and install Uber app. Rest stuff will be easy to follow.

Hi Meghna, in this case, not much is in our hands. Avoid frequent fill up. If you don’t receive anything, then try it after 15-20 days.

Hi Isha, any easy way out from this messy situation is to do another registration on uber with a different mobile number (if you have that) and e-mail id. The following things to be noted:- 1. During registration, one has to be careful to avoid repeated attempts if some failure happens. 2. Registration from Desktop also can be made and that is more error free. Hi Naresh, in order to activate uber account, you have to follow following steps:-
1. Visit page t.uber.com/account-disabled and fill the form.
2. Once you submit the form, you will receive an e-mail to confirm your e-mail address.
3. Once e-mail is confirmed, you will receive response from Uber in 1-2 days. In my case, I received response after 1 day and they activated my account.
