There are several tools available on the Internet to add watermarks to pictures. However, there is always a threat of viruses and malware with them. Hence, one should not download such tools unless it is trustworthy. Instead of these third-party tools, there is a better alternative in the form of software ‘Add Watermark‘ by Microsoft itself. This tool is available free on Microsoft Store. One can locate it on Windows Store or download it from here.
Adding Watermark to Photos
Once installation of the tool is complete, one can launch it from Microsoft Store or the start button. After the launch, a window opens, as shown below, giving clear options to a user.
Select option ‘Add Watermark On Images’. The tool then asks you to select images on which watermark is to be applied. We can even select multiple photos to apply a watermark. Further, the type of image is also not a bar. We can even watermark png files. Once an image is selected, the following window opens to allow us to select a watermark.
We can either create a new watermark or select from already created watermarks. In fact, one can choose any image to add as a watermark. The ‘create watermark’ option provides a lot of customization to design our own watermark.
Once we choose a particular watermark, we have a lot of flexibility to apply it to our photos. We can change the watermark’s color, place, alignment, size, transparency, etc. Finally, we can save the edited image. If multiple images are selected, then we have the flexibility to customize each one.
Adding Watermark to Videos
We can use the software to add a watermark to a video also. This facility can be beneficial for adding watermarks for YouTube channels. The steps are similar to an image except that we get various customization options relevant for a video while applying it. It is to note that after applying the watermark, it takes considerable time for the edited video to get saved.
